IDÉES POUR CHOISIR UNE ARMOIRE SPACIEUSE

Ideas for choosing a spacious wardrobe

The wardrobe is one of the most essential pieces of furniture in a home: it not only has the task of "containing" clothes, accessories and linens, but also of doing so with criteria and order, making everything "accessible" and easily retrievable when needed.

For this reason, it becomes essential to carefully evaluate the most suitable wardrobe measurements, style and structure, and in general the types of wardrobe that best suit our needs. How to choose the right wardrobe, then?

Spacious wardrobes: instructions for use

First of all, you should start from your own needs, evaluating how much space you have available (also in relation to the ceiling!) and how many clothes the wardrobe should accommodate (many, few?).

Four-season wardrobe and dimensions

The idea of the four-season wardrobe is anything but vintage, especially if you are a Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City" and would prefer a "gigantic wardrobe" to a diamond. The ideal would be to have an entire wall opposite the bed in the room, on which to set up the wardrobe for the entire length: the important thing is to have the right spaces in the internal structure, with clothes hangers at suitable heights (half-height for pants, skirts and jackets, full-height for long dresses, coats and suits), drawers and compartments in plain sight for accessories or folded clothes to keep within reach. The space at the top, under the ceiling, should be ample and intended for bed linen or seasonal changes.

Types of wardrobe and spaces

If the spaces are narrow, the solution of sliding doors, instead of hinged ones, is more suitable, and if you have a corner available, you could also opt for a corner wardrobe. Furthermore, especially in conditions of scarcity of natural light, you could adopt the solution of the mirror, both as an insert in the wardrobe cladding panels, and as a total cladding: a mirrored wardrobe amplifies the space of a small room and illuminates the environment, as well as having the functionality of a reflective surface.

In general, the style of the house must be expressed in a homogeneous way also in the bedroom, so the wardrobe can reflect its classic or modern style, however some precautions, such as a smooth, homogeneous surface with light tones and sliding doors, certainly lightens the spaces and, in case of small rooms, this helps not to overload the gaze.

Wardrobes and integrated lighting

In recent years, integrated lighting systems in furniture have become increasingly popular: an aesthetic convenience as well as functional, which certainly helps in the search for what is needed in a spacious and full wardrobe.

Wardrobe or walk-in closet?

If you have the right space available, the doubt would not even arise: the walk-in closet would be ideal to contain everything in order and in plain sight. However, if the room is adequately spacious, but not enough to create a real walk-in closet, an interesting solution could be to place the bed in the center, with the headboard facing the wardrobe behind, creating a space that simulates a real walk-in closet in a non-conventional way.
